ABSTRACT

Examination is an important element of educational reform that is focusing on quality education.Various ways have been tried out to reform examination system in the teaching of Medical Cytobiology process in the five-year program of nursing specialty. The teaching effect was assessed by comparing integrated results. The results indicated that the result of the class apply- ing the reform was superior to the contrast.

ABSTRACT

Objective The currently pertinent articles about the molecular mechanism of recurrence and metastasis of primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) were reviewed. Methods Literatures that related to the molecular mechanism of the recurrence and metastasis of HCC were summarized retrospectively in this review. Results Several genes, such as the growth factors and the corresponding receptors, the adhesive molecule, and the extracellular matrix and many factors, such as the oxygen supply, tumor angiogenesis and the immune system, all took important roles in the process of recurrence and metastasis of HCC, which involves many steps. Conclusion The study of the recurrence and metastasis of HCC should be emphasized further since early intervening the genes that are related to the recurrence and metastasis may help prevent the recurrence and metastasis of HCC completely, decrease the death rate and improve patients’ life quality in the long term.

ABSTRACT

To improve the quality of teaching, stimulate students'interest in studying medical cytobiology, and nurture the medical students with ability of practice, solid theory and innovation,we have carried on discussions about different kinds of teaching methods and discovered such results:If teachers can integrate the most recent development of medical cytobiology with teaching, strengthen the relationship between the real life and the clinical practice, and update the teaching contents with multi-teaching methods,we will receive a satisfactory teaching effect.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the present situation, methods, advantages and problems of bilingual teaching in medical cytobiology for medical undergraduates. Methods: The bilingual teaching project of medical cytobiology was considered comprehensively from various angles, such as the teaching aim, methodology, teacher training, teaching material selection and examination in specialized course. Conclusion: It is a very important strategic project to develop bilingual education in China. The course of bilingual teaching for medical undergraduates should be student-oriented and carried out step by step.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To study the effect of interleukin 1(IL 1?) on the metabolism of osteoarthritic and normal mature condylar chondrocytes in temporomandibular joints, and investigate the role of IL 1? in the pathogenesis of temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis. Methods: The primary generation of osteoarthritic and normal condylar chondrocytes cultured in the monolayer condition was treated with 20 ?g?L -1 recombined human interleukin 1? (rhIL 1?), and then collected to be detected with RT PCR method for the cellular metabolism including mRNA expression of type Ⅱ collagen, aggrecan, collagenase, insulin like growth factor 1 (IGF 1), and transforming growth factor?1(TGF?1). Results: The normal mature condylar chondrocytes showed the obviously decreased mRNA expression of type Ⅱ collagen and aggrecan after the intervention of exogenous IL 1?, but less influence could be found for the collagenase expression. The osteoarthritic condylar chondrocytes exhibited the decreased mRNA expression of type Ⅱ collagen and collagenase under the effect of IL 1?, while the cellular mRNA expression of aggrecan didn’t change obviously. The intervention of exogenous IL 1? didn't show an obvious influence on the cellular expression of endogenous growth factors such as IGF 1 or TGF ?1 for both the normal and osteoarthritic condylar chondrocytes cultured in vitro. Conclusion: IL 1? could not only disturb the expression of cartilage matrix molecules by the normal condylar chondrocytes, which lead to the lesion of condylar cartilage, but also worsen the abnormal cartilage matrix environment within the osteoarthritic condylar cartilage.

ABSTRACT

Seven-year-program medical education is an important model to train high-level medical person.Through the change of the teaching concept in medicine cytobiology experiment,re-form of the teaching content, and the use of a variety of effective teaching methods,students’com-prehensive quality, innovative thinking and practical ability is improved, which can meet the needs of modern medical education.

ABSTRACT

In the teaching reform of cytobiology,we should first formulate a reasonable syllabus according to training goals, pay attention to course content reform, strengthen connection with other preclinical medicine subjects, combine quality-oriented education in class instruction, and cultivate students scientific and original spirit. The experimental courses should be offered from higher level and be conformed with subject development. The teacher should have innovative thinking, adopt diversified teaching methods, and fully arouse students' study enthusiasm.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the characteristics of normal adult human nasal chondrocytes cultured in vit-ro. Method :The adult human nasal septal chondrocytes were cultured in vitro. The changes of cellular morpholo-gy from primary to subculture were investigated ;to observe the proliferation of chondrocytes by the growth curveand the survive rate of chondrocytes;and to determine the biologic synthesis of the chondrocytes by toluidineblue, alkaline phosphatase staining and type Ⅱ collagen immunohistochemistry reaction. The survive rate of thenasal septal chondrocytes was observed after being frozen (-196C). Result: The morphology of the primarychondrocytes maintained the spherical shape ,and some became polygonal shape after 4 days. Most of the chondro-cytes transformed into the shape of the fibroblast cell since the fifth generation. The number of the chondrocytes(2th generation)after being cultured in vitro for 5 days was approximately 4 fold of that of the plating. The phe-notype of the chondrocytes was maintained in the first 4 generation, the survive rate of the chondrocytes suscitat-ing from being frozen (-196C ) was 93 %. Conclusion:The normal adult nasal septal chondrocytes cultured inmonolayer in vitro maintained the specific chondrocytes phenotype in the first 4 generation, the growth was nor-mal ,and could survive in the condition of deep-frozen.
